I always have loved school. Every single year on the last day of school I would come home and tell my mom, "Mom, this was the best year ever." I liked school more and more the older I got. A big part of that is because you start changing classes every hour and get so many new teachers. Of course, I didn't like all my teachers, but some of my teachers were amazing. They were more than a teacher to me, they were a mentor, leader, and a trusted friend. They had an impact on how my life has turned out today. I want the opportunity to be able to have a relationship with students like I had with my teachers. I want to be able to be there for my students everyday in class and also to teach them knowledge about health and P.E. and also life lessons and skills. I specifically want to teach health and P.E. because I feel like they are two very important subjects that get overlooked. I want to show students that physical activity can be fun and that it is worth doing to be healthy, manage stress, and have fun. I want to be a fun P.E. teacher that actually participates with my students, not just be lazy and watch them run as I eat a Twinkie (one of my P.E. teachers really did that). Regarding health, I want to be a very informative, but not boring. I want the students to start to learn about and appreciate health. I want them to know that there is lots of things that can do themselves and learn healthy habits. I also love these classes because they aren't core curriculum classes, so there isn't the pressure of passing a standard state core test. Overall I want to be a interactive, fun, understanding, respectable, firm teacher.
